South Island Experience: DAY 2!
(All day in Wellington)
Today, we spent a full day in Wellington, the capital of New
Zealand.
After the breakfast, our guide took us to WETA, the place
where the Lord of The Rings and Hobbit was edited to become a film. There, it was
possible to find many things related to those movies. Miniatures, books, gifts, anything you can imagine.
Outside, there were 3 statues of Trolls fully detailed where I took some photos.
After that, we went to the National Museum, passing by a culinary
street delight on the way, where we had lunch. In the museum, another character
from Hobbit was there. Azog, the villain of the trilogy. I personally think
that the Memorial Art Museum in Auckland is better. I was not allowed to take
any photos there (Excluding the entrance).
Until this point, Me, Inacio, Artur, Anna and Bia were
walking together. Then, we split into two groups to explore different parts of Wellington and got together at the Cable
Car, the postcard of Wellington. Luckily, the weather had changed and the sun
came up just in time.
More photos of Wellington.
At the evening, we went down to the city, but not before changing clothes to go to the pier, where I could relax and enjoy the view. Wellington is beautiful when
it is sunny. But it winds, a lot!
Now back to the hostel, going to prepare some dinner for
everybody like in the breakfast.
Tomorrow at 10am, I will be
stepping on the South Island!!
